J.B. KENEHAN RECEIVES FSC CERTIFICATION

J.B. Kenehan, a full service web and sheet-fed commercial printer in Waukesha, WI, has received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification.

The Forest Stewardship Council is an international body that encourages environmentally friendly management of the world's forests. The FSC sets strict standards to ensure forestry is practiced in environmentally responsible ways. The council certifies its partners to accredit companies as "FSC certified", and verifies that companies claiming to sell FSC-certified products can document the chain of custody back to verifiable sources.

FSC certification is achieved after a company undergoes a rigorous audit to verify that the applicant complies with environmentally sound practices. The chain-of-custody process requires tracking of printing papers from the forest of origin to the printer's inventory, through all stages of printing production, and finally to the end-user.

Print communications using the FSC logo assures the end user that the paper used was made from trees harvested using environmentally responsible and sustainable forestry practices.

Commercial printer J.B. Kenehan, LLC. and Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle announced Thursday a major company expansion which includes a 50% increase in capacity with a 33% increase in personnel. This 22 year old web and sheetfed printing concern founded in 1984 employs some of Milwaukee’s finest Graphic Arts Craftsmen.

Governor Jim Doyle was present, in a ribbon cutting ceremony and the start up of the second full size Heidelberg Goss Web press. The pressroom now has the ability to deliver 4, 8 and 16 page folded press sections plus digest forms and 4, 8 and 12 page tabloid signatures. JB Kenehan produces for their clientele catalogs, cookbooks, magazines, calendars, travel literature and corporate brochures.
